I had a very good experience at the RNIB assessment centre. The staff were friendly, and my reviewer was very helpful, conscientious, and quick to follow up after my appointment.  I was seen quickly and it was easy to make the appointment, and the process was explained very clearly to me with thorough instructions.

My experience with this centre couldn't have been any better. It was less than ten minutes away from where I was living and even though i missed and cancelled numerous appointments, the staff still went out of their way to arrange times comfortable for me.  Contacting them was very simple and often I was replied to by email or text almost instantaneously.  The assessment process itself was very simple and my assessor was extremely friendly and did as much as possible for me so I didn't have to worry.  Even when my assessment was put on hold when I dropped out, resuming the process was painless and speedy.

My experiences of having a needs assessment at the RNIB were incredibly positive. From the outset, my convenience was the priority: the assessment was booked within a few days of my initial request on a day that suited me and my mother who was accompanying me; the centre itself is very easily accessible. The assessor attentively listened to all of the information provided by me and my mother before offering any recommendations and recording my personal preferences. The assessor was willing to explain the workings of any equipment I was unfamiliar with and demonstrate them if this was necessary. Most impressively, the assessor worked very hard to accommodate all of my needs and wishes. Proceeding the assessment, I was readily kept up to date as the assessor liaised with the university to ensure that my study needs report could be as accurate as possible. The report was highly comprehensive and was made available to me in an accessible format within a week of my assessment.

The RNIB was not the closest centre to where I live but it was certainly worth travelling there for the assessor`s expertise. The assessor was completely aware of the whole process and was able to give me informed decisions on both the process and products. The assessor kept me up to date at each stage of the process as well as liaising with suppliers and the University, responding to my queries immediately. I felt confident in the ability and professionalism when I needed to challenge SFE`s initial decision which was later overturned. Would definitely recommend this centre and in particular the assessor.

The RNIB provided a seamless connection onto the DSA service, and my assessor did all they reasonably could to help alleviate my study issues as well as to deal with problems contacting the DSA, and with my equipment provider. Extremely helpful, and am very thankful.
