If you have received equipment under the DSA scheme, your supplier will arrange insurance cover for the duration of your course.
The policy will cover all of the hardware supplied and include all of the following inclusions and exclusions:
Item | Inclusions | Exclusions |
Zero excess policy | ✓ | |
Accidental damage, fire, theft and malicious damage (3rd party) | ✓
Theft from unlocked / unsecured premises or vehicles | ✓
If an item is lost or misplaced | ✓
Full reinstatement of all hardware and software to at least the standard originally supplied | ✓
Worldwide cover | ✓ | |
Will not be limited to a single claim | ✓ |
If you encounter any issues with your equipment and are required to submit an insurance claim, you must contact your supplier, who will handle all aspects of the claim. The insurance claim should be resolved within 30 working days. If this does not happen, you should address this directly with the supplier, as authorised by your funding body.
Please note, your supplier will reinstate software from the original license or an equivalent, if the original software is no longer compatible.
