Chief Executive Officer
Karen Docherty took up post as Project & Quality Assurance Manager for the company in August 2006 and was promoted to Chief Executive in September 2009.
Karen has been the driving force behind building DSA QAG to the reputation and status the organisation holds within the DSA sector, with the various funding bodies and the Department for Education. With overall responsibility for the registration and quality assurance of over 800 organisations.
Karen has a wealth of knowledge and has worked for the Student Loans Company (12 years) and Department for Education and Skills (4 years) and closely with HEIs and Local Authorities for almost sixteen years including knowledge of DSA funding and processes. In addition she has over 25 years of experience in auditing and quality assuring systems, reviewing and implementing business processes and procedures in both the private and public sector.
Jim Kersse joined DSA-QAG as the Field Auditor in August 2015 and after a successful period with QAG takes on the role of Operations Manager in February 2016.
Jim has many years working in an operational role within the private and public sector (Scottish Ambulance Service) in process improvements, managed Information Security Management Systems and has extensive experience of stakeholder management bringing his invaluable experience to the DSA-QAG and the DSA sector.
Senior Compliance Officer - AC/ATSP
Robyn Fraser took up the post of part time Administration Support Officer in November 2011 and was promoted to full time in January 2012. Robyn was promoted to Trainee QA & Audit Officer in September 2012. Following a successful training period, Robyn was promoted to QA & Audit Officer in July 2013. Robyn took up the post of Senior Compliance Officer for Assessment Centres, Outreach Centres and Assistive Technology Service Providers in December 2016.
Since leaving university in 2010, Robyn has administration and customer service experience in private organisations. As part of Robyn's traineeship, she has undertaken audit and quality assurance qualifications sponsored by the organisation.
Compliance Officer - Outreach
Andrew Johnston took up the post of Compliance Officer - External in November 2017 and his main responsibility will be undertaking outreach centre audits.
Andrew has ten years' experience in compliance and providing advice on corporate affairs to businesses. Most recently, he provided guidance and assistance to students who were applying for their license to practice with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Compliance Officer - NMH - Internal/External
John Scolaro took up the post of Compliance Officer - NMH Internal/External and joins the NMH team following the introduction of NMH Providers in January 2017. John performs a dual role conducting both internal and onsite audits.
John brings a European flavour to our team in Glasgow having recently moved from Malta to the UK. John brings his experience of working in a compliance and risk management background and introducing risk management procedures.
Compliance Officer - NMH - Internal
|Stuart Allan took up the post of Compliance Officer - NMH Internal in May 2017, and is responsible, as part of the wider NMH team, for the delivery of the NMH audit programme. Stuart performs an internal audit role.|
Stuart has a background in process audit within financial services, having implemented ISO management systems in his previous role.

Keith Miller took up the post of Compliance Officer – External in February 2017 and performs onsite audits.

Gavin has 8 years experience in the public sector, working as a civil servant for HMRC as an enforcement and compliance officer and has a broad range of experience from working in various public services.
Finance Officer (Part - Time)
Since 2012, Jennifer Hamilton attends to DSA-QAGs financial accounting, ensuring that the charities accounting is in order for each financial year.
Jennifer manages the accounts for the two work streams - Assessment Centres/Assistive Technology Service Providers and NMH Providers.
