I had an excellent experience with Aim Assessments in York, the session was booked in quickly, the assessor was so welcoming and made me feel at ease. They went through the process detailing everything clearly and really listened to me which made me feel comfortable. I genuinely left that room feeling so much more confident that I can get through university without my disability holding me back, so thank you!

Had a meeting with the trainer. The trainer is one of the loveliest people I have ever met. The person was so easy to talk to and very welcoming. The Trainer was also very attentive and I felt like they really cared, which for me is one of the most important aspects of people. The Trainer ensured I understood all the relevant information alongside ensuring I was given all the help I was required. Another note is that via email/ phone calls, I spoke with a representative, and the person was so helpful and reassuring, so a thank you to them as well.

Right to reply: Hi Shannon, thank you so much for taking the time to leave such lovely and thoughtful feedback. We are so happy that you got so much out of your assessment and that the experience was so positive for you. We wish you every success with the rest of your course and hope that your DSA support helps you thrive! If you ever have any question about your DSA or need any assistance please let us know. Thanks again. I had a fantastic experience at the Leeds Tannery. This was my first time applying for disabled student allowance and so I have never had a study needs assessment before. I had been told it was a relaxed process, but I was pleasantly surprised at just how relaxed and friendly my meeting was. My assessor made me feel incredibly at ease and talked me through a whole range of options that I wasn't previously aware of. The assessor was very clear on explaining the process and made me feel completely confident to leave my application in their very capable hands. I walked out feeling extremely optimistic and more in control of my condition, knowing that there really are people out there to help you get your life back on track. Coming to terms and coping with a condition or disability is challenging enough in itself, especially for a young person, so having those little adjustments to make life a little bit easier just makes all the difference!
